A Heritage of Technology and Business
Principal and Writer
Joel started out as a telecommunications tech and IT administrator. He has been writing and structuring content for over ten years now, largely for technology and B2B offerings. Joel savors his new role teaching other writers the Word Lions Way. If you criticize yippie small dogs, he will flash a patient, indulgent smile and later introduce you to Torito, the chihuahua that will change your mind.
Writer and Whip Cracker
Karl joined Word Lions in 2011 after almost fifteen years in sales and management roles for telecommunications, IT, and software development. Karl has a talent for accessible, value-driven content. He also speaks Saleperson-ese, which helps us connect marketing with sales needs. In his spare time, he likes to eat Greek salads and hang around in bars.
Over the years, Erik's code has sold guitars, balanced server loads, and served up any number of web services. Along with his understanding of the underpinnings of applications, Word Lions put his affinity for research to work. We could all stand to learn a little bit about proper attire from Erik.
Brooke is a writer and editor living in Los Angeles. A New England transplant, she earned a master's in writing from the University of Southern California and spent 12 years in advertising before foraging for freelance opportunities full time. She loves being a part of the Word Lions team and still thinks the Internet runs on magic.
Karl has been tweaking technology since the days of VisiCalc on the Apple ][+. He enjoys taking business puzzles and using technology to solve them, making people happy in the process. He's also brought his love of writing together with technology, writing about everything from SQL Server business intelligence to integrating social network services and new developments in electroacoustic music.
Robin Coleman brings 18 years of experience to graphic design, e-learning, and production. Her design chops are honed to respond to business, sales, and marketing needs. If she does not answer the phone, it is probably because she is out camping in a remote Pacific Northwest spot.
Hannah Barrett is a multidisciplinary designer who strives to create visual solutions. Her experience spans digital, print, branding, and more. When not doodling and messing about on her computer, you can find her out on the hiking trails or enjoying some brews.
